Dov Szego’s extensive legal experience includes everything from government contracting to family law, criminal law to products liability, intellectual property to cybersecurity, worker’s compensation, general liability, business law, and more.  Dov has taught college level classes on evidence, procedure, and family law, and lectured on federal contracting rules.  He has served as a volunteer member of the legal panel of a civil rights organization, and represented parties ranging from the indigent to fortune 100 companies.

Dov’s academic background includes law, engineering, psychology, and economics, and he has been a contributor to a benchbook for the National Center for State Courts and at least one Constitutional Law textbook.  A three-time Super Lawyers “Rising Star” (twice while in engineering school), member of the U.S. Supreme Court bar, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Virginia Eastern and Western District Court bars, Dov has been admitted pro hac vice in several other states, and has tried, briefed, and argued matters at all levels of litigation, from state and federal administrative agencies to state and federal trial courts, and state and federal appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

Dov recently added a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, as well as certifications in 3D modeling and lean manufacturing and a Virginia Engineer in Training (“EIT”) designation.  Dov’s recent area of academic engineering focus was automation and robotics, specifically unmanned aerial vehicles – he literally joined Setliff & Holland after interviewing around the country to design and build autonomous and electric vehicles and spacecraft.

Dov is currently studying for the patent bar, and just for fun, he builds mechatronic devices such as robots and drones.
